May 22, 2018  Now the thing that I believe really made the Komplete Kontrol generate the Ableton drivers and actually work in Live 10, was to install and activate the keyboard before installing Komplete Ultimate. You have to also run the Kontrol software before you launch Ableton. It was a real pain to get it figured out, but that said it runs fantastic now. Mar 27, 2017  This video demonstrates an easy way to setup a single instance of Komplete Kontrol to use the 'smart play' scale/chord/arp features to play any VST or Live instrument at the click of a button. Komplete Kontrol Ableton Live Lite Download Software

I have the following problem, which behaves differently, in different situations.
The 4 directional big knob on the right (push encoder) can be used for everything, but not in the 'Plugin' page of the Komplete hardware/software itself. That means, I can search for presets and plugins, but I can'T add no effects in the 'Plugin' page.
Strangely enough, the knob somehow can be used only in Ableton to navigate through tracks and if I press on it, it records audios/midis.
It worked perfectly, till now.

First of all, apologies if this ISN'T the correct place to post this. I typed 'Kontrol s49 vs push 2.0' as well as 'should I buy kontrol s49 or push 2.0 and neither had a link that compared the two, so I followed a link I noticed in both searches about the workflow of komplete kontrol+push+maschine and though the subject of that thread is more about the three interacting and how they work together in live, my question is, as I'm sure you've noticed, comparing the two separate pieces of equipment to choose which I should buy first. I thought about putting it in the 'Push' section, but it seemed more appropriate here than there. If I made a mistake, I would appreciate it if one of the mods or admins moved it to a more suitable spot.
Anywoo, I'm Jared, and I've produced music under many different monikers, but my current and most used nom de tonus. I BELIEVE, though I may be mistaken, that this is my first post on this message board, despite being a user of live for many years. If my post count is higher than 1 after I post this, I'll feel silly, but please just pretend it's the first. I don't have the $10 to unban myself from the board I've used for years and go to about this stuff, so I'm hoping you guys will be kind.
Here's the deal. I owned a push v1 and I absolutely loved it, especially after I got the pxt live addition. Of course, there were several downsides to using push instead of a more standard MIDI keyboard controller. Since I used to be awesome at piano and now have to work really hard to do anything more complex than, say, a progressive house chord progression, I really loved the whole note mode where you put in your key and the chords were formed by patterns- there was a lot of really interesting stuff I came up with that I wouldn't have been able to do had I not had that specific method of playing/recording the notes. However, I guess maybe my fingers are just weak, but to get a solid response from the pads when I was playing complex single not flurries or even chords that changed quickly, pads would sometimes (often enough anyway) not register until I turned the sensitivity as low as I could get it without vibrations near by setting them all off. That didn't bother me too much. I think, more than anything, the lack of compatibility iwth any DAW other than Bitwig Studio was kind of a major buzzkill for me. Don't misunderstand, I love Ableton Live when it comes to Dance music or at least entirely electronic songs. However I do use several DAWs, Logic Pro X being my second most used where I feel it's better suited to my actual recording sessions.
Long story short, while I loved my push, hard times put it in a pawn shop with my monitors and audio interface. I lost the yellow slip that tells me the due date and got there 1 day too late, but it was okay- I was going to just buy everything back even though I'd have to pay floor costs, and they assured me the push was still there. 3 hours later, they say that apparently, a half hour before I arrived, it was mailed to their store in Colorado. This put me in a spot because no I have no MIDI controller.

So I looked at getting a new push, and saw the Komplete Kontrol s49 (perfect amount of keys for me). I loved the fact I could use it with ANY DAW I use and it's cool other companies are adding pre-map support for it, and the thing is, lets face it, just REALLY cool. However as I said, I'm not great with piano style keys, especially if they aren't weighted. I don't remember if the kontrol s keys are or not, but that'a small thing. It also was the same price as the Push, $499.99.
I wavered back and forth and decided to get the kontrol after all, but then, out of nowhere, I learn about Push v2. Now I see regular pushes at much lower prices, but when I saw what the push 2 does, how it looks, and that beautiful screen, I was no longer even leaning from one side to the other. I was stuck 100%. Push 2's buttons are supposed to be much better, the layout looks a little more natural to me, again -that screen!-, and the biggest change and my biggest complaint with the original: You can access your AU and VST directly from the push.Komplete Kontrol Ableton Live Lite DownloadKontrol

Obviously, the push cost more, and once again I'd be stuck using live (not stuck, but the controller would only be useful in that application)*. However, the kontrol s, while universal (and I have NI Komplete Ultimate) would hold me back when it comes to the keyboard style.

The guitar center by my house doesn't have either item on display, so I can't check them out before purchase, which is a real bummer. I was hoping you guys could give me your opinions based on your own experiences with either owning both and being able to compare to pros and cons of each one in YOUR opinion, or people who just own one or the other and why they personally prefer that particular item. I know this was rather long considering it was just a question, but I thought if you knew a little about my history with the original push and what worked and didn't work for me, maybe it would help answer. Thanks for your time, in the future I'll try and edit a little more.
