Long time, no see. One of the 'benefits' from being self employed; sometimes you have no choice but to set aside your hobbies and work, work, work

Using third-party Packs. Live Versions: 9-10 Operating System: All If you are installing official Live Packs downloaded from the Ableton website, check instead our article on How to Install Packs. If you wish to install a Third-party Pack downloaded from another source, then please follow these instructions. Managing Files and Sets. Various types of files are used in making music with Live, from those containing MIDI and audio, to more program-specific files such as Live Clips and Live Sets. This chapter will explain everything you need to know about working with each of these file types in Live. Next to 'Installation folder for Packs' click the “Browse” button and set the 'Installation folder for Packs” to a dedicated Packs folder on your secondary drive. Upon choosing a new location for your Ableton Live Packs, Live will ask if you wish to “Move existing Packs to new installation directory”.

  • The Clips folder is where you can save your own Live Clips, independent of the Live Set where they are used. To save a Clip just drag it onto the Clips folder in the User Library (or any other folder).
  • Dec 26, 2015  Ableton does the rest. However there’s one caveat you might run into. When transferring your Ableton Live Packs folder to your new computer, all you have to do is navigate to the installation folder of your choice from the Preferences: Library Installation Folder for Packs.
  • All available Packs for your license (and any previously purchased Packs) can be downloaded and installed directly from the Live 10 Browser. Under Places, click on Packs. Scroll down to the list of Available Packs and unfold the list. Locate the Pack you want to install, then click the download icon (downward arrow).

Alas; so far I've used Live 9 for projects which I already had around. But today I started on something new and noticed that apparently you can no longer create a project folder from within the Live 9 browser. Am I overlooking something obvious or is this indeed no longer possible?
I have a good hunch but would appreciate confirmation.
Thing is; I'm used to keeping several related livesets together in a single project folder. So I usually come up with the name of a project first, which I then manually create, followed by saving the liveset in the project folder. While I can still create new folders I can no longer create live project folders, which I think is quite a shame.
Sure; I can save my set in a non-project folder after which Live will automagically create an associated project folder which I can then rename again. Its a lot easier on me if I can simply start out by creating a project before saving the liveset.
